INTRODUCTION
Meet the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The first-ever all Google phone. Built completely different to learn and adapt to you in so many ways. At its heart, the revolutionary Google Tensor, Google’s first chip and a processor capable of powering a new kind of smartphone. With an Adaptive Battery, Intuitive enough to know where you need power,
and send it there. And it lasts beyond 24 hours so, you can get all adventure all day long.
Both of these phones are fantastic and neither will disappoint you but there are a few key differences that might make either device more or less suitable so without further ado let’s compare the pixel 6 and 6 pro.
SIMILARITIES
There are some key differences between these two devices which we will cover in a moment but before we do let’s just quickly cover how these phones are the same. The main similarity is software and performance. Both phones have essentially the same hardware inside with that super-fast, in-house tensor chipset as well as the exact same CPU and GPU and these three components the main contributors to how a phone performs so likewise both phones perform almost identically.
DIFFERENCES
- The only real difference in terms of specs is that the regular pixel 6 only comes with 8 gigabytes of ram and up to 256 gigabytes of internal storage whereas the pixel 6 pro has 12 gigabytes of ram and up to 512 gigabytes of internal storage. Although the difference in ram is pretty negligible when it comes to day-to-day use but if you’re someone who needs a lot of internal storage then perhaps having the option of buying a phone that has half a terabyte of internal storage is enough to sway you towards the 6 Pro but as I said the main specs are all identical and because of android 12 and the way that google has refined the software experience both phones feel super responsive, very fast and honestly they’re both a true joy to use.
1-The first key difference in both phone models is the display screens. The regular pixel 6 has the display screen of 6.4 inches FHD with the refresh rate of 90Hz. And the pixel 6 Pro has a larger screen that is 6.7 inches QHD with the refresh rate of 120Hz
2- Now if we compare the size of both phones, we see that Pixel 6 has the body size of 6.2×2.9×0.4 inches, whereas the Pro 6 comes with comparatively larger body that is 6.5×3.0x0.4 inches
3- While doing a comparison between two phone models, let’s not forget to talk about RAM. The Pixel 6 has 8Gb RAM while the Pixel 6 Pro has the RAM of about 12GB
4- Then we come to the design and this is largely going to be somewhat subjective. There are two key factors that make the raw design of the regular pixel 6 better than the 6 Pro and they are the matte rails and the flat display. On the 6 pro you get shiny rails and a curved display both of which make the phone look pretty good. But when it comes to feel it in the hand these two factors make it feel quite a bit more uncomfortable to hold.
5- Talking of the storage capacity, we see that the both phone’s local storage capacity starts at 128GB, but regular 6 goes up to 256GB and 6 Pro tops at 512GB
6-Another differentiating factor is the camera configuration. Now both phones actually have the exact same 50-megapixel main sensors as well as 12-megapixel ultrawide lenses but the two key differences between the regular pixel 6 and 6 pro are:
-firstly, that the regular Pixel 6 does not have a telephoto lens and,
– secondly, it also has a pretty inferior selfie camera
In short, pixel 6 Pro has a better-quality front camera along with an added telephoto lens at the back.
7- The most important thing that should be compared between these two phones is the battery. The regular 6 has 4614 mAh battery while the 6 Pro has 5003 mAh power center inside its body.
8-Now aside from that, there are some other little differences which are as follows.
-both the fingerprint sensor and the haptics are better on the regular six though the difference is somewhat marginal.
9- The final key difference between the two phones is of course the price. Now at launch the Google Pixel 6 Pro costs 899 US dollars for the base model whereas the regular Google Pixel 6 costs 599 USD.
CONCLUSION
Other than these differences in both phones, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are more or less same, with the same software, same processor developed by Google and also the same Android features. Although 6 Pro does have some additional and revised features, thus both the phones are fun to use and a good choice.
